  Emotions Having some butterflies in stomach? Do you sometimes feel like your emotions are overpowering your entire health, mainly your digestive system? Are your emotions causing you to fear a sudden call of nature in public places? Does your emotion limit you to socialize with friends? With all the demands of our busy lives, it seems like negative emotion is inevitable. Whether it is a draining work-life balance or unforeseen life-changing event, any adverse reaction can take a toll on our physical and mental health. Extreme emotions of sadness, anger, or stress can trigger our body to release chemicals and hormones that target the gastrointestinal tract, interfering with digestion. This leads to moderate to severe abdominal pain. Can stress and anxiety cause abdominal pain? Even in a short period, stress and anxiety can lead to abdominal pain. Even anxiety from a simple doctor’s appointment or company presentation can lead to stomach pain, bloating, and even diarrhea.
